Kenya-travel-news gives answers to the five most frequent questions.

⇒ Is it possible to travel to Kenya?

Yes, it is. Since August 1, 2020, the Jono Kenyatta Airport in Nairobi has been opened again for international flights.

⇒ Are wildlife safaris in Kenya safe?

Yes, wildlife safaris are safe. That is to say, you travel with private vehicles on lonely paths in National Parks like Serengeti and Ngorongoro without any possible sources of infection. The accommodations follow strict covid-19 requirements.

⇒ Are hotels and lodges operational to receive me?

In anticipation of a restart of tourism in Kenya, most hotels and lodges are open. Your guide will only recommend accommodations that are open and strictly adhere to the covid-19 rules of conduct.

⇒ Are there any special entry regulations to follow?

To enter Kenya, a negative PCR test for COVID-19 is required, which must not be older than 96 hours before departure. Kenya basically provides for a 14-day quarantine after entry, but this is not necessary for people who have their habitual residence in the states listed on the Kenyan positive list. People whose body temperature is more than 37.5 degrees Celsius on entry, or who have symptoms similar to COVID-19 or who sat in the two rows of seats in front of or behind such a person on the aircraft, must be quarantined for 14 days.

All passengers must fill out the “Travelers Health Surveillance Form” online prior to entry and show the received QR code upon arrival at the airport.

⇒ Are there any special Covid-19 rules of conduct to follow?

It is compulsory to wear a mask in public and in cars / public transport. Private cars may only be occupied with 50% of the permitted seats.
